It’s that time of year again for appetizers {or is it always time for appetizers?} with the big NFL game coming up, ya know, Super Bowl?! I have a few appetizer recipes that I like to make because; a.) They are simple, b.) They are quick, and c.) They are of course delicious and always crowd pleasers.

My absolute favorite thing to make are Pretzel Turtle’s. Or so I have named them. Quick, easy, addicting.

{Ingredients}
Square pretzels
Rolos
Pecans
Cooking spray

{Step 1}
Turn the oven on to 350°. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. You can also use parchment paper (not wax!!) but I prefer the spray.

{Step 2}
Line the baking sheet with the square pretzels, leaving about a 3/4 inch around each pretzel.

{Step 3}
Place an unwrapped Rolo on each pretzel.

**Be sure to buy the Rolo’s that are packaged for individual sale with 8 Rolo’s per package. The bulk bag has each individual Rolo wrapped in gold foil and it takes f o r e v e r to unwrap each one!

{Step 4}
Put the baking sheet with the pretzel and Rolo’s in the oven for 4-5 minutes.

{Step 5}
Take the baking sheet out. The Rolo’s should still be upright (not melted) and have a shiny glaze look.

{Step 6}
Take out the pecans right away and start, very lightly, placing the pecans on the Rolo’s.

Very gently, start pushing the pecan down in the center of each Rolo. {I usually dig through the bag of pecans to make sure I pick the most whole ones.}

*Disclaimer: I did let one batch go too long in the oven {about 9 minutes! Oops!} But I still used them. They tasted just the same but looked a little crazy. Evidence below.

{Step 7}
Once you are finished pushing each pecan in, put the baking sheets in the fridge to cool.

Serve at room temperature.

Enjoy!

    This is one of my fav Christmas cookie platter additions. Add the pecan before going into the oven, this slightly toasts the pecan. But be careful moving it from the counter into the oven, they will topple! Lol
